BURBANK, USA - Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment are teaming up for the launch of Batman: The Brave and the Bold™ the Videogame, an episodic, family-friendly adventure based on the hit animated series of the same name. The game is available today in North America and Asia Pacific for Wii™ and Nintendo DS™, and will be available and across Europe and other PAL territories beginning September 10, 2010.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame features the VO talent, action and hilarious dialogue of the cartoon and drops players into an action-packed melee in which Batman partners with Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Robin, Hawkman and Blue Beetle to fight crime against the most notorious villains in the DC Universe. Playing solo as the Caped Crusader or together with family and friends in two-player co-op mode, gamers will experience the ultimate side-scrolling extravaganza through four episodes of comedic fun.

“Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame is a great extension of the animated series that allows players of all ages to team up and experience the cartoon in a totally fun and accessible way,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “With the retro style of hand-drawn 2D character animations and fun banter between Batman and the cast of characters, combined with engaging gameplay, fans are going to love to play this game with friends and family.”

“Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame offers a wonderful, totally unique look at the heroes and villains of the DC Universe,” says Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer. “Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has done an amazing job of bringing that world to life in a way that will be exciting to not only fans of the animated series, but also to gamers looking for a fun, new action title.”

Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame offers gamers multiple ways to team up with their favorite DC Comics heroes as they do battle in a variety of locations, from crime-filled alleys and strange alien planets to mysterious laboratories and beyond. Batman can join forces with playable partner heroes who each have unique gadgets and fighting abilities, as well as call in the aid of jump-in heroes including Aquaman, The Flash, Shazam and Black Lightning™, who each perform a super-powered attack to squash armies of enemies.

Adding to the adventure, players can link the Nintendo DS version to the Wii version of the game to unlock Bat-Mite as a playable character who can be controlled with the Nintendo DS. The character can be helpful or mischievous while fighting alongside the heroes.

Developed by WayForward, Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame, is rated “E10+” by the ESRB and is available on Wii for the suggested retail price of $39.99 and on Nintendo DS for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
